Nidec Corporation introduced an environmental accounting system in FY2004 to understand the effect of environmental protection activities to the economy and promote efficient and effective environmental protection activities, and we have made information on such activities available. Our Singapore office became part of this system in FY2006. Figures on our system are calculated based on the Environmental Accounting Guideline (the 2005 edition) issued by Japan's Ministry of the Environment.

Accidents or Emergencies |
An incident occurred at the site below, and appropriate measures were taken.
Shiga Technical Center
Hydraulic oil spilled from a crane vehicle's hose during the construction of an employee dormitory on the Center's property, and the oil flowed into a neighboring river.
Oil fences were installed at the end of the oil flow to prevent the diffusion of the oil, and the spilled hydraulic oil was collected and disposed of (industrial waste disposal), the drainage and the soil were tested and investigated respectively, and a report was submitted and the measures were checked based on Shiga Prefecture's antipollution regulations.
A post-incident review was performed later to see if appropriate procedures were taken according to applicable regulations.
