| ※No Conflict Minerals
Nidec Corporation supports the goals of the U.S. Conflict Minerals Law in promoting socially and environmentally responsible procurement of
materials used in our production processes and, specifically, in restricting
the use of conflict minerals that are tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold mined in the Democratic Republic of Congo (“DRC”) or adjoining countries.
Although the origin of mineral content is often difficult to trace, due to the complex paths of processing, refining and fabrication that bring materials to us, we are committed, without compromise, to prohibiting the use of materials that enter the marketplace at the cost of severe human rights abuses, such as those reported in some areas of the DRC.
As a listed company on the New York Stock Exchange and a socially responsible company, Nidec does not use conflict minerals. It actively encourages its vendors to adopt similar restrictions, offers guidance to them in establishing and maintaining a verification process for the origin of materials,
and is pledged to discontinue purchase of products that contain conflict minerals.
