Basic idea
To answer our customers' various needs and based on a "QCDSSS" basic sales policy, our sales, R&D;, and production departments make concerted efforts to improve customer satisfaction and establish a reliable relationship with our customers. It is under this policy that, in October 2009, part of our overseas sales function was transferred from Head Office in Kyoto to Shiga Technical Center. This is to further close the gap between R&D; and Sales Departments, to enable information on customers' needs obtained by sales personnel to be quickly provided to R&D; and production departments, and to deliver faster than anyone else to our customers the products that meet their requests. Also, in April 2010, we established a Customer Service Office in Shiga Technical Center as part of our efforts to collaborate with overseas production sites' Quality Assurance Departments to further improve quality and customer satisfaction.

Improved the sales network in China
In order to strengthen the sales expansion in inland China, which is showing tremendous economic growth, we have established sales offices (branch offices) in six cities - Chongqing, Chengdu, Wuhan, Changchun, Zhengzhou, and Qingdao -, and expanded the number of sales sites in the Chinese region (including Taiwan) to 13 with five sales companies and eight branch offices.
The six cities in which we established sales offices are making great leaps as location for company R&D; centers and production sites with a focus on information and telecommunication devices, household appliances, and automotive-related industries. With the six new branch offices, Nidec is developing new business with local Chinese manufacturers and following the business expansion into the inland of existing customers, thus providing a service that responds promptly to customer needs and the market.

Established Nidec's first sales subsidiary in India
In December 2010, Nidec established Nidec India Private Limited in Gurgaon, a city close to India's capital New Delhi. This is the first time for us to establish a foothold in India.
India follows China in terms of population with 1.2 billion and has in recent years achieved a high economic growth, second only to China within the BRIC countries, showing a sudden rise of demand for consumer goods such as household appliances, cars, telecommunication devices, etc. Because of this, Japanese and foreign manufacturers are intensifying their entry into the Indian market; at the same time local manufacturers are achieving extraordinary growth.
Nidec is responding to the needs and component demand of such customers in a prompt fashion and incorporates aggressively the strong demand in the newly emerging markets.

Nidec receives "Long Term Support Partner Award" from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies
In January 2011, Nidec received the "Long Term Support Partner Award" as excellent vendor of the year from Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (HGST). Nidec supplies motors for hard disk drives to HGST and was awarded due to the high quality of our products.
Nidec receives "Excellent Supplier Award" from Tohoku Pioneer Corporation
In June 2010, Nidec received the "Excellent Supplier Award" as excellent vendor of the year from Tohoku Pioneer Corporation. Nidec supplies motors for optical disc drives used in car navigation systems and audio players to Tohoku Pioneer. Regarding automotive components, as one defect can become a large problem affecting human lives, this market takes "zero defects" for granted. The quality of our products was recognized in the automotive market that sets high standards for quality, and this was expressed with the award.
